2022 INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION DELEGATE ELECTION

This serves as the Official Notice of Nominations and Election for Delegates

to attend and represent YOUR UNION, AFSCME Local 2620,

at the 2022 AFSCME International Convention

Nominations and Elections will commence on

Saturday, June 11, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. via Zoom

Please be signed in by 9:45 a.m.

DESCRIPTION

Six delegates will be elected to attend the 2022 AFSCME International Convention. We will also elect 6 substitutes from those with the most subsequent votes. The 45th International Convention of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees, AFL-CIO, takes place in Philadelphia from July 11 – 15, 2022. When in session, the AFSCME International Convention is the largest governing body of our union. Delegates from most AFSCME locals, councils and retiree chapters throughout the country participate in a week’s worth of debate, networking, skills learning, political action and other activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

A delegate representing a local union must, from the twelfth month of the twelve-month period, which forms the basis for local union representation at the opening of the Convention, be a member in good standing of the local represented.

NOMINATION PROCEDURE

Nominations will be made, and elections will be held via Zoom at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 11, 2022. Please be signed in and ready to participate by 9:45 a.m.

To save time prior to the nominations/elections, we ask that you RSVP to the elections committee via email at elections@afscmelocal2620.org with the title “Delegate Election” in the subject, by Thursday, June 9, 2022 by 5:30 p.m.

You will be sent a link to the Zoom meeting, meeting number, password, and telephone number 48 hours prior to the meeting. Instructions for signing into the Zoom meeting, additional details on how to nominate individuals, and how to vote during the meeting will be provided at that time.

Candidates will be given an opportunity, during the meeting, to make a brief statement regarding their qualifications, if they desire. This is optional.
